The Florist Arms

Before I start the pub review I would like to say thank you to all of the bloggers who have been patient during my commenting crisis. Some of you may not know, but all of my comments on blogs are being marked as spam. I have contacted WordPress and Akismet several times, but the situation hasn’t been fixed yet. I apologize for not visiting as many blogs as I normally do since this is slowing me down. I’m trying to send emails after I post a comment and as you can imagine, that takes time. I know many of you are busy and have full email inboxes so I’m sorry to add to your workload. I really hope the issue can be resolved and I won’t have to annoy each and every blogger that I follow since there are many who I love to read.

Enough about the comment problem. People it’s time for a beer. Or in this case, Stowford cider. Happy Friday!

A few weekends ago we were exploring the Bethnal Green neighborhood in London. The weather wasn’t too bad, but not great either. When it started to sprinkle both of us immediately sniffed the air in search of a pub. Luckily we found one and it’s a gem.

The Florist Arms, on 255 Globe Road, serves salads, oven baked dishes, and pizza. Yep, pizza. We ordered the Sicilian Hot, which has tomato, mozzarella, Chorizo, and chili. It was delicious. This is a relaxing pub. There wasn’t a lot of hubbub and the bartender was friendly. We intended to pop in for a quick drink and then see if the rain had subsided. Instead, once I saw they served pizza, we had a tasty meal and enjoyed a couple of cocktails. I would give this place 4 out of 5 stars.

It’s almost nine o’clock in the morning here, but that beer and pizza looks mighty good. Hope your problem gets fix soon.

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

  2. The Hook says:

I think you got it right with this one. Looks like a cool spot!

  3. that building surely does have curb appeal. added to the smell of pizza i bet they do well.

blogger sends any blog comments i get to me in email as they come thru. that makes dealing with “spam” easy on my end. i hope you get this straightened out soon. it must be frustrating!

  4. bulldog says:

It certainly seems a lovely pub to visit… beer and pizza… lovely… hell it must be hard doing these reviews…

  5. IsobelandCat says:

I’ll skip the chorizo, but this looks a nice pub. Thanks for the tip!

  6. poppytump says:

TBM all the best for a fix soon with the problem . Get the beers on the go 😉 …. I’m nearly ready to pour a large sharpener myself ….
Sure looks like a good pub !

  8. adinparadise says:

I love English pub food. 🙂

  9. Jo Bryant says:

looks amazing…why does the name Bethnal Green ring bells for me ? Something from a movie I think…in the olden days was it famous for something ?

  10. lynnsbooks says:

Hope the problem gets resolved?? Most odd. Good review. I’m off for some wine. Got back from our hols and now need a break to recoup!
    Lynn 😀

  11. Beth Ann says:

Oh gosh that looks yummy!!!!! Saying hi to Wyoming for you everywhere I go!!!!

  12. Novroz says:

    The pizza is very inviting.
Looks like a cozy place but from the outside it looks like most pub in England seen through movies/tvseries I have watched 😉

    • TBM says:

That reminds me I need to watch the trilogy you suggested. That would be a good summer project!

      • Novroz says:

        Not yet trilogy 😉
But I saw Edgar wright’s twitter (the director) they will released the third part soon.

      • TBM says:

I better get busy and see the first two, even though they aren’t really related to each other.

      • Novroz says:

I am going to see them too before the third is released 🙂 … although I have seen Shaun Of The Dead more than 10times but it still manages to make me laugh, bloody hilarious.

      • TBM says:

More than 10 times. that’s a pretty good endorsement.

      • Novroz says:

It’s one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. When people told me that Zombieland is funny, I hardly laugh because it’s nothing compared to Shaun.

        Ah…I should warn you, it’s a bit gory…it’s a zombie comedy.

      • TBM says:

Is it funny gory? I can handle some gory films when I know they are just over the top. Like Pulp Fiction. Yes, it can be gory, but I can see that it’s fake at the same time. I have issues with movies like Saving Private Ryan–it looks too real for me.

      • Novroz says:

They are zombies 😉 so they aren’t as real as saving private Ryan.
Talking about it makes me want to watch it again.
Oh…Martin Freeman (John Watson in Sherlock) played cameo in both movies and finally becomes supporting role in the third 🙂

British comedian has strong friendship…they keep playing with the same people again and again.

      • TBM says:

I’m noticing that british actors appear on many shows. Makes sense since the seasons are so short here. I think I can handle Zombie gore.

  13. Beer and pizza. It’s the simple things.. 🙂 Looks delicious!

  14. Lou says:

That pub looks awesome!I’m trying to convince my wife to plan a trip to London soon enough. Maybe I’ll end up here one day!

  15. Frank says:

Being American, I trust you realize my wording, but wow … now that’s the meaning of a corner bar!

  16. There is a summery atmosphere to the whole place, that includes the pizza and beer.

  17. Meanderer says:

There’s nothing like a laid-back pub, a glass of chilled cider, and a tasty pizza on a Summer’s evening 🙂

  18. Fergiemoto says:

Sounds like a winner to me!
I feel really bad for you having to go to all these different pubs and trying the different beers and food. It must be torture for you! (just kidding!) 🙂

Hope the commenting issues have been resolved by now.

  19. funny how quickly technology that amazes becomes common and then frustrating when it doesn’t work like it should

  20. The Guat says:

Dude that beer and pizza look very good, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I like your pub reviews. We don’t have too many here … mostly just bars, not really the pub feel. Just one … my little Regal Beagle maybe I’ll stop by this weekend and do a little review just for you, or at the very least just get away for an hour 🙂

Thanks for commenting, I would love to hear from you.
