Teaser Tuesday (July 23)

tteTeaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read

Open to a random page

Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!

Here’s mine for the week:

And then, slowly, as one day followed another, springtime replaced winter, and autumn summer, it dwindled away bit by bit, crumb by crumb. It went away, and disappeared.

pg. 43, Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert

I’m reading Mildred Marmur’s translation. Someone gave me an old copy of their novel and it’s been sitting on my shelf for many, many years.

  4. Nice teaser. I haven’t read this but know it is a classic. Happy reading. Here is my TT http://cynthia2729.wordpress.com/2013/07/23/teaser-tuesday-july-23/

When you think about it, that could be sort of depressing. Please come see my teasers from Runt by Nora Raleigh Baskin and The White Princess by Philippa Gregory. Happy reading!

I remember reading this book at university – in the original French 🙂

  8. I have not read this book. I think the teaser is beautiful. I didn’t join today. My brain is fried. I don’t think I could do a blog post even if someBODY offered me a lovely glass of sweet Missouri wine or a cheeseburger.. 😀

  9. Donna says:
