Christmas is coming! Christmas is coming! Most of you probably knew that. Since Santa will be visiting us soon I thought I would review one of my favorite holiday pubs. You can’t visit this pub year round. It’s part of Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. We stumbled upon this event and this pub our first year in London. We had no idea about Winter Wonderland and it was a pleasant surprise and has now become part of our London holiday tradition. You can find more about it here and here.
Santa’s pub is not fancy at all. It does have a roof, but it’s not completely enclosed so when you visit my guess is you won’t stand around for long. Unless it’s raining. Last year we tucked in for over an hour, sipping mulled wine, eating German sausages, which we could conveniently buy right next door, and watched it rain. Each year the location of Santa’s pub changes—or at least I think it does. Directions are not my strong suit so if you visit, don’t ask me, unless you have a lot of patience and a good sense of humor. I was sad that the German sausage stand was not next to Santa’s Pub this year. Don’t fret, though. I did find one eventually.
Even though this pub isn’t all that fancy and not really a pub at all, we do look forward to visiting it each holiday season. And since Santa runs it, I give it five out of five stars. Dude, I’m not an idiot. I want gifts from the big man.
